It was our turn to have friends over today to play, and this whole thing happened literally about 2 minutes before they were supposed to come. I called my good friend Summer and told her of the emergency. She was going to try to call our other friend Reva who is a nurse. Luckily, Reva was on our doorstep waiting to drop her boys off. She came in and helped me clean Broder up a bit. Summer came and got Jackson, Kirsi and Reva's boys to take back to her house.
Broder got bandaged up the best we could and I drove over to the local InstaCare. Another lucky for us, there was no one else there! Miracle!
An hour and some later, after two rounds of numbing injections, little buddy had 4 stitches on the inside and 13 on the outside. The med. student told him he will have a Harry Potter scar. He was more excited about the blue Otter Pop they had promised him earlier and wasn't going to leave without it.
He is supposed to stay completely off it for today and tomorrow....we'll see. And then for the next week after that he is not supposed to run, jump or bounce....yeah. He is also not supposed to get it soaking wet, so baths are out unless we wrap him up in plastic wrap and tape, but I don't know if that will work either.
He is doing fine now. It's just going to take some inventiveness from Mom and Dad as to how to keep him entertained for the next couple days while trying not to watch thousands of hours of TV.
